THE FRENCH BOOK CLUB TERMS OF SERVICE

General information

The French Book Club is a website that sells online courses in French and Francophone literature for students of French who wish to continue learning French. These courses are given synchronously at a set time, on a set day each week, for an hour and a half, during a number of course sessions that vary from 4 to 14 weeks, and for a total of hours that vary from 6 hours to 21 hours.

These courses take the form of books selected by the instructor, the choice of which is available around 6 weeks before the start of the course. Each week, for each course session, a number of pages to be read is given, and the reading of these pages is discussed between all participants and the instructor on the Zoom platform via a link given by the instructor. Customer do not have to read the whole book before class start.

The courses usually take place on a New York, NY, USA, GMT-4 time zone.

The French Book Club does not supply the book itself; customers must obtain it themselves. The French Book Club simply provides the name of the book, the author and the edition that will be used during the course.

Customers also have access to additional resources (supplementary texts, podcasts, videos) available on a Google Classroom, to which they are given access once their registration has been validated. Apart from the number of pages to be read each week, there are no compulsory homework assignments.

Currency displayed on the website

The prices displayed on the site are in US dollars, but it is possible to pay in other currencies. The costs associated with payment in foreign currencies are paid by The French Book Club and are included in the price.
